Inside: All of us have our own unique journey or story we could write. The outcome of the path we travel is not always certain. This is my story, my blogging journey.
It started out as an idea, or was it a passing thought. Either way, it was a desire to share the things I had learned, the struggles and challenges I went through. These and other thoughts raced through my mind. Now what was I going to do about it!
Your Voice is Unique.
Each of us have our own unique voice with something important to say. You may not think so but we all have that within us.
There isn’t one person exactly like the other. Not even identical twins. They may look the same but each have their own individual personality.
Those differences are what sets us apart from each other. It’s also what brings us together.
One person’s experiences can have a profound impact on someone else. If those things are never shared then you would never know if they would. One things for certain; if you don’t do something then nothing will happen. So what do you have to lose? You never know if what you say or do will lift another.
A simple word can trigger a huge change in someone you have never met.

Sharing Your Unique Voice Through Blogging.
Blogging wasn’t something I had ever thought of doing. For those who have known me for a long time, they would tell you I am shy. Yes, it’s true. I am shy. Or I used to be.
I may be reluctant at first, but helping others drives me to step out of my comfort zone. When the message is important and can make a difference in someone else’s life, it’s not fair if I don’t share.
I truly believe we are all here to help each other. Blogging has given me the opportunity to share and help, even if only one person reads my blog.
In reality you are helping me too.
Yes, you really are!
Not only does blogging draw me out of my shell, it also helps me with my writing.
I’m not big on writing.
I know, I know what you are thinking, “You’re shy and you’re not big on writing?”
It’s true. My husband can attest to that. When we were dating, he helped me with my writing assignments during my college years. Now he also reads over my blog post.
Share your passion!
Is there something that you are passionate about? What interests you? What are you good at? Are there things you find easy to do? Are people asking you for your help or advise?
Those are the things that make your voice unique. I look at blogging as sharing and talking with my best friend. Answering questions, giving advice and assistance.
The excitement you have show’s through your actions, tone in your voice, and through letters on a page. Each are ways to inspire and encourage.
The desire to share continued to grow.
My desire to share the experiences that transformed my life continued to grow. I wanted a place to write my thoughts. Provide encouragement to others along their journey.
I received support throughout my journey. I know from first hand experience that this can make a huge difference. Especially when someone is feeling overwhelmed or alone.
I wanted others to know that what I had accomplished, they could too. That it was attainable. I didn’t think the things I did were incredible. I tried to keep things simple. Not letting the things I didn’t know keep me from moving forward.
I found that the support I received from others who were on the same path, invaluable. Connecting with others and knowing that I was not alone was so important.
In a way this desire to share was my way of giving back. “Pay it forward”, as it were.
Pay It Forward
I’m reminded of the movie “Pay it Forward”. If you haven’t seen it yet, I would recommend it. It’s definitely a must see, feel good family movie.
“Pay it forward” is about doing a kind act for one person then that person doing something kind for another person. As people pay it forward one by one it has a ripple effect.
You never know the amount of people affected by one person’s act of kindness.
Blogging for me is my way of “paying it forward”. I received help along my journey now it’s my turn to, you got it, “pay it forward”.
My Plant-Based Journey Meet’s My Blogging Journey
In December 2014, my plant-based journey intersected with my blogging journey. As I started my blogging journey I found that there were similarities in both.
Everything was new, even seemed a little foreign to me. I had a lot to learn and the overwhelming feelings started to settle in…Again.
I had never thought about doing either one of these things. But here I was. I had transformed my life losing 125 lbs with a whole food plant based diet. Now I was wanting to share my experiences with others through blogging.
The feeling to do more increased as things continued along my “blogging journey”. A little over a year had passed. Then one day I came across “Building a Framework, The Ultimate Blogging Handbook”.(This is an affiliate link by the way. Read my disclosure page here.)
After reading it I thought, “If only I had found this handbook sooner.” Just to let you know I am not a “child of the new millennium”, so for me the internet was not the first thing I thought of when I didn’t know something, and really needed to. So I should have searched online “How to start a blog”. Of course, I had not even thought of doing that!
That would have been too simple. “Building a framework” helps teach the in’s and out’s of blogging. It’s an easy to follow step by step guide to blogging for beginners.
My eyes opened to a whole new world, “the blogging world”. The same thing happened when my eyes opened to the plant-based “vegan” world.
I had never known either world existed. Yes, it felt like my eyes opened up.
It reminded me of the movie “The Matrix” when Neo starts seeing the world in a new light.(Take the red pill!) I guess I have taken the red pill.
Do you have an idea, even a random thought that keeps crossing your mind. It all starts out as an idea a desire or passion to share. You never know Blogging may be for you too. So, if you are wondering how to start a blog then I recommend “Building a Framework”. (affiliate link)
Abby and her husband from Building a Framework are holding a FREE live training “The Key to Launching a Successful Blog: Choosing your perfect niche” There are 5 different days and times to choose from. If you are a seasoned blogger Abby has created FREE downloadable guide “5 types of content that will Boost Your Blog Traffic”
My Blog Goals.
My blog goals are to reach out and make a difference in the lives of others. I want to enlighten, encourage and empower those that read the words written on my blog.
Now it’s your turn.
Let your unique voice shine. There’s only one of you. Share your passion, talent and perspectives on life. You never know who’s life you may touch, or who is in need of help along the way. No matter how big or small it all starts with an idea .
What things you are passionate about? Tell me your story. Share in the comments below.

I so relate to this, Maria! I, too, describe myself as “shy” and didn’t know I could be brave enough to blog– so glad I took that step! Thank you so much for your sweet words about Framework! I am so thrilled that you are using your own journey to help others and encourage them as they are going through similar experiences! Hope you’re having a great week!
~Abby =)
Thank you Abby!
I look at blogging as telling my best friend about something I have learned. That makes it easier to post and share.
Even though I have already read your previous book, I am currently going through the many videos/audios you provide in the current version. I have always had a hard time reading books. I can always find other things to do that take away my time to read. I love that I can listen, learn and grow my business while washing dishes. I am really enjoying the updated version.
Maria- This is so very compelling and insightful! I love how transparent you are about your journey, and the feelings, stages, and learning curves you have been through! Thank you for sharing this!
Kristine, I appreciate your kind words. Changing habits and learning new things isn’t always easy. There are times my head feels so full that there’s isn’t any more room left for learning. Thank goodness somehow it continues make room.
It amazes me how many bloggers admit to being shy and introverts! Makes me wonder if I am in t the wrong place :). I guess I’m a little of both, but I love to write and do public speaking, singing and dancing. Love the message you shared. So proud that you have found your passion to share. Love the book…if anyone needs a second endorsement reading, best blogging book for beginners out there.
Debbie,
Each person brings so much to the online world whether we are shy or outgoing. Those differences help to build and straighten relationship. I am grateful for your desire in building a community of blogger wanting to learn.
Maria, thank you for sharing this. I am gathering all of the pieces to launch my own blog in the next week or two (hopefully!), using Abby & Donnie’s e-book, too. I appreciated reading your words and just getting a ‘feel’ for how you presented your own information (fonts, spacing, as well as words). Your genuine side comes through beautifully on your post.
I seem to have a habit of ‘over-thinking’ and perhaps ‘tweaking’ too much. What are your thoughts?
I know at some point I have to launch, but wow, I am going to either be a nervous wreck or…an *excited* nervous wreck when it happens.
Thank you for your encouraging words~I definitely needed to hear them from an additional source.
Best,
Kristi
Kristi,
Congratulation on starting a blog. It’s okay to be nervous. I know, I was!
I found myself overthinking things when I relaunched my blog. It ended up being longer than I wanted to. I decided my blog would never be perfect. There comes a time you should just go for it and push publish.
I still find myself wanting and tweaking certain things. That is part of the process. As you continue to learn your blog will change over time. The beauty of having a blog is that it grows and develops as you do.
Let me know when you finally go live.
Maria
