Oil free waffles made with a ceramic waffle maker. No oil needed! Yah. The recipe I used was the oven baked pancakes recipe. I had the temperature on the highest setting. Took about 5 minutes to cook one waffle. I noticed that if I held the waffle maker down the waffles looked wonderful. When I didn’t the ends didn’t turn out as well as I liked. Either way they taste great.
Made shredded potatoes baked in the oven without oil. When using store bought potatoes you don’t have the starch on them. That makes it hard for the oat flour to stick to them. I sprayed the potatoes with water and coated them with oat flour. Then sprinkled a little salt and pepper. The next time I will add a little onion and garlic powder. I cooked them on a silicone mat on 400 degrees using the convection oven. After the first 5 minutes I used a spatula to unstick them. Once I did that I didn’t have any problem with them sticking to the mat. I continued to cook them until they were crispy. I flipped them over when needed. They came out a little dry but they were still good.
Blueberry and strawberry jam to top the waffles. Those are always a good addition to any breakfast. I will have these tomorrow morning in my overnight regular oats.
