Today the practice of conscious eating did not seem like a chore. It has become easier by the day. I continue to focus on eating slower and determining how my body is feeling. Lunch was relaxing and enjoyable. It reminded me of meditation. I focused on the muscle memory of my stomach to gauge if I was full or if I needed to eat more. Taking at least 20 minutes to complete each meal is worth the rewards. I do not want it to sound as if I have this perfected in any way. It has given me a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction to not give up. I have decided to make this a regular practice and see where it takes me.
Our bodies are equipped with the tools we need to not overeat. Are we taking advantage of these tools?
The quality and quantity of food we put into our body truly does matter!
Things I noticed over the last seven days:
1. Eating way to fast.
2. Overeating without really noticing.
3. Have not been taking any time out of my day to focus on myself.
4. Portion size naturally decreased.
5. Did not feel stuffed (as long as I remembered to apply the principles).
6. My body will let me know if I have overeaten. It is not an immediate response, but it definitely lets me know.
7. Reduced the time spent in the kitchen.
